The Â鶹´«Ã½ Theatre Department is thrilled to announce the premiere of Janine Christl’s “19”, a time capsule documentary of Fall 2020 that exposes all aspects of living in this moment of the pandemic. These stories fully embrace the lives of our own Â鶹´«Ã½ student artists.  Join them on a journey of their current realities that impact their ability to be in school, while life and art blend to become a story of self-discovery.

“19” a “distanced documentary,” is a first for Â鶹´«Ã½, inspired by Janine’s encounters with her students following the transition to online education and artistic work due to the pandemic.  She watched what seemed impossible evolve into connected, meaningful art. This inspired Janine to document this experience in a time capsule of students’ lives and artistic pursuits. Some wrote, some danced, others created music, all recording their experiences. “I then collaborated with documentary maker Haley White and videographer/editor, Justin Willis who helped to reveal the heart and beauty of these stories.  Our students and faculty began this work in August and we are beyond excited to share these personal journeys,” she said. 

The first of five episodes premieres this Friday, November 13.  Christl says it is a powerful 16 minutes that you don’t want to miss. Other episodes will premiere Nov. 14, 20, 27 and Dec. 4. Tickets are now available and donations are being accepted at:  or on the Â鶹´«Ã½ website.
